Grace and peace to you!
I hope and pray that you are all safe and well. As the pandemic continues, we live into a new routine here at St. Matt's. We are getting used to worshiping with masks on, at a safe distance, both with limited numbers of worshipers present on the terrace and on FB livestream. Each week we are getting more proficient at providing an on-line worship that is on-line but LIVE, alive, interactive and meaningful. Each week we engage with one another on Zoom several times--(Breaking Bread, Adult Forum, (re)CREATION--1st and 3rd Mondays, Wellness Group. And we continue to hold our in-person but socially distanced pop-up drop-in access centers for persons experiencing homelessness on Mondays and Wednesdays, as well as a hot meal on Tuesdays at noon.
This has been a season of hard work and adaptation. But God is good and God is with us and even in the midst of the challenges, we rejoice over the well-being and love we are able to manifest in the name of Jesus Christ.
As we move deeper into August, I want to ask us all to lift up all educators and all students in our prayers and in our awareness. As teachers and students and staff move back into the classroom--virtual or in-person--engagement requires patience and prudence. Pray for them all.
And PLEASE DO YOUR PART BY KEEPING SAFE, WEAR MASKS AND STOP THE SPREAD!!
As you prepare for worship this Sunday, hold this thought and image in your head: Jesus reaching out, taking hold of your hand, holding you up, and walking with you wherever the journey takes you this week. "Precious Lord, Take My Hand."
I always look forward to Sundays and our worship together at 10:30am live-streamed on Facebook. Please recall that we have moved our worship service out on the terrace. This move makes it possible for us to continue to safely hold and live-stream our live worship gatherings during the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as host up to 10 people participating live and receiving communion. If you wish to attend outside worship, please email Leon at stmatthewsnoho@gmail.com to reserve your seat!
God bless you and keep you safe. And enjoy our late-summer Musical Theater Liturgy!
