Sunday, Feb. 5 following worship, join us in the Timothy Stocks Memorial Fireside Room for “St. Matthew’s Tailgate Party” lunch with “Super Bowl” themed snacks and a February birthday cake. Many thanks to all who brought food to share and Pastor Sue for baking the cake.

February food collection items for LSS food pantry are baby food, diapers and any non-perishable food items. Donations may be placed on the table at the front of the church.

• Lenten worship Soup and Salad food volunteers.
A petition is available in the narthex/lobby from Safe California, the purpose is to gather signatures to put on the ballot in California an initiative to stop the death penalty. St. Matthew’s does not endorse any certain position. However, the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has a social statement which is against capital punishment. Copies of that statement are next to the petition. You can also read about both of these on elca.org and safecalifornia.org.
Opportunities to Get Involved…
Adult Forum meets every Sunday in the Timothy Stocks Fireside Room at 9:30 a.m. Join us for a Bible Study on “Peacemaking” by Mary Schramm. Includes coffee and discussion, facilitated by the Pastor.
Feminine Sacred Circle meets monthly in the church library from 12:00 to 1:30 p.m. Facilitated by Melanie Ronning.
Book Club meets on the third Tuesday of the month, 7:30 p.m. at Pastor Sue’s home. In February we will discuss “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time,” by Mark Haddon.
Church Council meets next month on the first Tuesday of the month, February 7, at 7:00 p.m. in the Timothy Stocks Fireside Room. NOTE: date change.
Great Events Lunch Bunch meets the third Wednesday of the month for a community outing and a festive lunch.
St. Matt’s Choir meets Wednesday evenings from 7:30-9:00 p.m. and Sundays at 9:40 a.m. in the church. A snack is served in the narthex at 7:10 p.m. All are welcome.
Growth Group meets every other Thursday from 7:30-9:00 p.m. at the church. For study/discussion this group is facilitated by Kenny Callaghan.
Feed the Homeless meets the last Saturday of the month from 9 to 10:30 a.m. in the church kitchen. Come help make PB&J sandwiches and lunch bags from non-perishable food items. This
ministry is supported by a grant from Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Care Abounds in Communities program.
“Ubuntu” a spiritual growth group, led by Ryan Chaddick. Stay tune for more information and upcoming meeting schedule.
